BGMI was banned in India for 10 months, and now it has got approval from the Government to unban the game for a limited period of 3 months, and some new BGMI rules have been set to protect players from getting addicted, and some other changes.

- Virtual World Warning Message: Just before the game starts, a pop-up message will appear to let players know that they are entering a virtual world, and the in-game audio reinforces that this game exists in a virtual world and is not their real life.
- OTP Authentication: Every player below the age of 18 needs to register a parent or a guardian before they start playing for the first time. An OTP will be sent to the registered person’s number, post which the child is allowed to play the game.
- Breaktime Reminders: Some games can get intense and make players lose track of time. But with BGMI’s timely breaktime reminders, it is made sure that the players get the required downtime. These reminders help them look up from their game and get back to real life, maintaining a healthy game-life balance.
- BGMI Time Limit: BGMI developers have ensured that players below 18 years are allowed to play only 3 hours per day and players above 18 years are allowed to play 6 hours per day. This will help them treat gaming as an activity performed in moderation.
- Daily Spend Limits: Game developers have also set an in-game daily spend limit of ₹7000 that automatically stops them from overspending and overgaming.
- Moderated Game Graphics: Developers have sensitised in-game graphics to inculcate a healthy and responsible gaming culture and reduced violence and bloodshed, and set parameters that keep the language in check.
